BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - WKU's uptempo style of play was on full display Sunday afternoon as WKU rolled over Glenville State 100-67 in front of 1,314 fans at E.A. Diddle Arena in the final preseason exhibition for the Lady Toppers.

Junior All-America candidate Chastity Gooch led WKU with 22 points, hitting 10-of-11 shots in the game. She added seven rebounds and four assists.
Gooch scored the game's first six points and eight of WKU's first 10 as the Lady Toppers jumped out to leads of 10-2 and 16-4 and 24-6 to open the game. WKU led 28-13 as the team hit 11-of-12 shots to open the game over the first 12 minutes of the game. WKU extended the lead to as many as 21 in the opening half before settling on a 46-33 advantage at halftime. The Lady Toppers gained the halftime lead by shooting 56.3 percent in the first half (18-of-32) and holding Glenville State to just 28.3 percent (13-of-46) from the field.
The Lady Toppers gradually pulled away in the second half, limiting the Pioneers' opportunities in their fast-paced, three-point shooting style.
Junior All-America candidate Alexis Govan had 17 points while sophomore guard Micah Jones had 10 points. Sophomore Jalynn McClain added nine points and 10 rebounds.
Glenville State was ranked as one of the top 30 teams in the NCAA Division II Preseason Poll.
COMING UP NEXT: WKU open the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 9 when the Lady Toppers host Austin Peay at 2:00 p.m. CT. All fans that bring in two canned food items will receive a complimentary reserved ticket to the game. All canned food items will be donated to the American Red Cross South Central Kentucky Food Pantry.
The game will also mark the return of former WKU manager Seth Ralston to E.A. Diddle Arena. Ralston is now a graduate assistant at Austin Peay.
