- WKU completed the preseason with a 2-0 record in exhibition games.
- Michelle Clark Heard improves to 3-0 in exhibition games as the WKU coach.
- The game marked the first time that Glenville State and WKU had met on the court.
- WKU open the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 9 when the Lady Toppers host Austin Peay at 2:00 p.m. CT. All fans that bring in two canned food items will receive a complimentary reserved ticket to the game. All canned food items will be donated to the American Red Cross South Central Kentucky Food Pantry.
Team Notes
- WKU opened the game with eight consecutive points and took leads of 16-4 and 24-6 to open the game.
- WKU hit 11-of-12 field goal attempts to open the game, including a 4-of-4 performance by Chastity Gooch over the first three minutes of the game.
- Glenville State missed its first nine three-point attempts before hitting a three with 3:14 left in the first half.
- WKU's perimeter defense limited Glenville State to 67. The Pioneers had attempted 13-of-41 three-point field goals against second-ranked Duke earlier this week in an exhibition. Last season, Glenville State hit 433 three-pointers on the season.
- Glenville State averaged 95.3 points per game last season, but were held to 67 in the game today.
- WKU All-America candidates Alexis Govan and Chastity Gooch combined to hit 18-of-24 shots in the game.
- The 100 points by WKU would have been a new high for the Michelle Clark-Heard era had the game been an official game.
Individual Notes
- Junior All-America candidate Chastity Gooch hit 10-of-11 shots and finished with 17 points, seven rebounds, four assists, a block and two assists in just 24 minutes.

- Gooch hit her first five shot attempts of the game and finished the first half 7-of-8 from the field for 15 points and four rebounds.
- She was 3-of-3 from the field in the second half.
- Junior All-America candidate Alexis Govan, the preseason Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year, had 17 points and six rebounds. She hit 8-of-13 shots in the game.

- Due to an issue with her uniform, Govan wore #34 today instead of her normal #21.
