BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Junior swimmer Allie Duff has been named the CollegeSwimming.com Counsilman Hunsaker Women's Division I Swimmer of the Week, the first national weekly honor in Western Kentucky University swimming and diving history.
The accolade is the second for Duff this week, as she was named Conference USA Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday along with freshman Amy Crayne garnering the league's Diver of the Week.
A native of Ontario, Canada, Duff earned four wins in last weekend's victory, breaking three pool records in the process. In the meet's opening 200 medley relay, Duff and her teammates set a new Keating Aquatic Center record mark of 1:44.05. The junior followed that win up with three individual titles, setting new pool records in both backstrokes. Duff won the 100 back in 56.67 and the 200 back in 2:01.84, which also holds as the fastest time in C-USA this season. She closed out the meet with the top time in the 200 IM, clocking in at 2:05.24.
WKU returns to Bill Powell Natatorium for the Hilltopper Invite on Nov. 21-23 where they will take on Akron, Illinois State, University of the Cumberlands and Missouri-Rolla.
