BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The Western Kentucky University women's swimming and diving team was named to the Spring 2012 Scholar All-America Team by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).
The CSCAA presents the Team Scholar All-American award to college and university swimming and diving teams who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
WKU is one of four Sun Belt Conference schools to earn the team honor, as FIU, UALR and North Texas were among the teams listed. The Lady Toppers received the Scholar All-American standing last semester.
The organization also honored eight swimmers from both WKU teams with individual Scholar All-American recognition. Heitor Rodrigues and Jordan Vorst from the men's side along with Laurel Chaney, Claire Conlon, Kristiana Feeser, Susan Marquess, Hilary Mishler and Alex Van Oost from the women's team were each tabbed as an Honorable Mention Scholar All-American, which is given to a student-athlete by achieving an NCAA consideration standard or diving zone score and having a GPA over 3.5 during the season.
