BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Former WKU swimmer Sean Penhale will compete for his native Canada this week at the 2010 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships at William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center in Irvine, California.
Penhale will take part in the 1,500-meter freestyle event Wednesday to open the championships. Preliminary heats start competition each morning followed by event finals in the evening. Penhale will also swim in the 400 and 800 freestyle later in the week.
The Calgary, Alberta native earned his place on the Canadian team with his performance at the Canadian Summer Nationals in early August.
The five-day event, which runs through Sunday, features teams from several nations including Austrailia, Canada, Japan and the United States.
