BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Western Kentucky University diver Vincent Rominger has been recognized by the Sun Belt Conference as the SBC Diver of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Rominger led the Hilltopper diving team at the HIlltopper Invitational last weekend. Rominger claimed first-place on the 3-meter event with a finals score of 312.80, a lifetime best mark for the junior. In the 1-meter competition, The Battle Creek, Mich., native placed third with a score of 268.00. The event win on the 3-meter was the first of the season by a WKU diver.
The honor is the first of the season for Rominger and first for a WKU diver.
The WKU swimming and diving teams returns to the pool Saturday at 1 p.m. in a dual meet against Evansville at Bill Powell Natatorium.
