Mullendore shot a one-under-par two-day total of 141 — two stokes behind champion Grant Sturgeon.
Both Mullendore and fellow competitor Chad Stocker tied for second, resulting in a playoff round. That winner took the qualifying spot for the National Tournament in October. Mullendore birdied the fourth playoff hole to wrap up the spot in the Championship at the PGA Golf Club South Course in Port St. Lucie, Fla., on Oct. 27-30.
A native of Bowling Green, Ky., Mullendore tied for third — his career-best finish — at the Sun Belt Conference Championships his senior year and was an all-SBC selection. He was team captain in ’03 and fired a career-low round of 68 in the Xavier Invitational his junior year.
