“This meet is designed for a couple of reasons — to give the swimmers and divers a chance to compete, team building and to have fun,” said head coach Bruce Marchionda.
The format for this season's intrasquad scrimmage was different than years past — The two teams competed in 50-yard races in each stroke as well as 400-yard freestyle and medley relays. The six-dive format was used in the 1- and 3-meter events.
Winners for the Lady Toppers were Nicole Ringelberg in the butterfly, Elizabeth Peterson in the backstroke, Cassie Fahrlender in the breastroke and Megan Rames in the freestyle. Erica Wilson the 3-meter dive and Charlotte Martin won on the 1-meter event.
For the Hilltoppers, Kyle Peterson won the butterfly. Evan Mulliken and Mike Caruso tied for first in the backstroke, while Travano McPhee won the breastroke by over one second. Jevon Atkinson took the win in the freestyle. Mike Freese claimed the title on both boards for diving.
