Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University junior Leslie Adams advanced to the semifinals of the Kentucky Women's State Amateur today with a 4 and 2 win over Bethany VanHoose in the quarterfinals at the StoneCrest Golf Course. Adams, playing in the first flight, returns to action on Thursday morning with a match at 9:52 a.m.
Fellow Lady Topper Casey Manion, who scored a victory over third-seeded Erin Faulkner on Tuesday, dropped a close second-round match to Amanda Henry (2 and 1). Manion was the seeded 30th in the lower championship bracket.
In other WKU women's golf news, junior Jennifer Taylor placed second in the Greater Cincinnati Women's Amateur, falling to Cathy Almquist in the championship match at Four Bridges Country Club. It marked the first match-play tournament of Taylor's career.
