BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Western Kentucky University head women's soccer coach Jason Neidell announced the addition of Jennifer Lynn Wilson for the 2002 season.
A talented forward from Crestwood, Ky., Wilson hails from South Oldham High School where she was a three-year starter for the four-time state champion Dragons under coach Cy Tucker.
"We are always excited to get a player from South Oldham," Neidell said. "Coming from such an established winning tradition, Jennifer has the type of competitive mentality that we will continue to build on in our program."
Wilson garnered numerous accolades as a player at South Oldham H.S. as she was named all-state honorable mention her senior season (2001), and all-region and all-district three times (1999-2001). She was also named to the 2001 sub-sectional team as well as the 2000 and 2001 Kentucky Cup all-tournament teams.
"We look for Jennifer to add depth to our forward line," Neidell said. "She is a quick, versatile player who has an opportunistic nose for the goal. We are eager to see her develop over the coming year."
Wilson also showcased her talents for the prestigious Kentucky State Olympic Development Program, where she played for two years.
The daughter of Richard and Diane Wilson of Prospect, Ky., Jennifer will play alongside her twin sister, Lauren, who joined the Lady Topper soccer program earlier this year.
