Bowling Green, Ky. - Freshman Robby Shaw (Louisville, Ky. - St. Xavier) led the way for the Western Kentucky men's golf team at the Stonebridge Invitational this week with the first top-10 finish of his collegiate career. Shaw finished at two under for the tournament and tied for sixth after firing a career-low 68 in the final round. Shaw also recorded a career-best total of 214, two strokes better than the 216 he posted at the Xavier Invitational last week. The Hilltoppers took ninth at the event, which was played at the Stonebridge Country Club on Oct. 21-22 and won by co-champions Lamar and Baylor. Both schools finished at seven under.

Senior Adam Cox (Hardinsbug, Ky. - Breckinridge Co. HS), fresh off the best finish of his career, placed even higher at Stonebridge. Cox grabbed a share of 25th place with a three-day total of 221, one stroke off his career-best 220 total. Senior Jared Topmiller (Central City, Ky. - Muhlenberg North HS) sat at two over after the first two rounds, but suffered an 81 in the final round, dropping him into a tie for 53rd place. Sophomore Peyton Cook (Dallas, Tx. - Highland Park HS) and senior John Mullendore (Bowling Green, Ky. - Bowling Green HS) struggled in the first round, but closed out the event with two solid rounds, finishing in a tie for 64 and 69, respectively.

Arkansas' Andrew Dahl took medalist honors with a 209 total. Head coach Brian Tirpak's squad closes out the fall season at the USA Fall Beach Classic on Nov. 4-5.
