Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky women's soccer coach Jason Neidell has completed the schedule for his team's inagural 2001 season.
Western will open the campaign with two exibition matches the final weekend of August. WKU will host Tennessee-Martin on Aug. 25 for a 2 p.m. (CDT) match at the WKU Soccer Complex before playing its final tuneup at Xavier on Aug. 26. The Lady Topper's first official match will be Aug. 31 at Morehead State. Western's first home match will be Sunday, Sept. 2 against Indiana-Purdue Ft. Wayne at 2 p.m. That will be the start of a three-game homestand which also includes matches against Murray State and Bethel College. WKU will also play non-conference matches at home against Alabama A&M and Samford, while traveling to Oral Roberts, Missouri Southern and Trevecca Nazarene.
The Lady Toppers will also compete in the Sun Belt Conference, playing home matches against Florida International, North Texas, Denver and Middle Tennessee. They will travel to Arkansas State, Arkansas-Little Rock, Louisiana-Lafayette and South Alabama. That will lead up to the Sun Belt Conference Tournament which will be played in Miami, Fla. Oct. 31-Nov. 3.
