Both Western Kentucky men's and women's swimming teams are ranked in the top-10 of the latest collegeswimming.com mid-major poll, released January 16.
The women's squad, which is currently 11-0 in dual meets and riding a 32-meet winning streak, is ranked fourth following a 124-102.5 win over Wright State last weekend. Ohio University holds the number one spot, followed by UC-Santa Barbara and East Carolina. Evansville, Western's opponent on January 27, is currently sixth on the women's side.
In the men's poll, WKU held on to a seventh-place ranking after defeating Wright State 112-81, improving to 11-0 on the season and extending its win streak to 42 straight meets. Eastern Michigan holds the top spot in the men's poll, while Southern Illinois, Western's opponent this weekend, ranks third. Evansville is ranked 12th on the men's side.
Following the dual meet season, the women's team will compete in the Sun Belt Conference Championships, Feb. 16-18 in Little Rock, Ark., while the men travel to Rochester, Mich. for the National Independent Championships, Feb. 22-24.
