Will Gerber is the the Graduate Assistant for Athletic Communications and serves as the primary contact for WKU Soccer and Baseball. Gerber has worked with athletic communications since he began as a student intern in the fall of 2021.
As the primary contact for WKU Soccer, he executed and conducted media relations efforts for a 2025 Conference USA Regular Season Championship, marking the program's highest conferece win percentage in its history. He also developed a social media campaign commemorating 25 years of Hilltopper Soccer.
In Febraury of 2026 he was named the primary contact for Hilltopper Baseball, coordinating statistical and media relations efforts for all 36 home games while traveling with the team on the road and to the 2026 Conference USA Baseball Championships in Kennesaw, Ga.
In May of 2025, he graduated with a B.A in Broadcast Communications and is currently pursuing a Masters in Sport Administration with a specialization in Intercollegiate Athletic Administration.
In the fall of 2023, Gerber assumed the role of sport contact for M/W Cross Country and M/W Track & Field. The 2023 cross country season saw two home meets including the 2023 CUSA Championships, the first since 2019. Gerber also assisted with men’s basketball in the role of recruiting visits, game recaps, and game-day media relations efforts. For the Indoor Track Season, he oversaw communication efforts for a nationally ranked high jump team that saw an individual CUSA Championship. The Outdoor season saw multiple record breaking performances and a nationally ranked high jump group.
In the spring of 2023, Gerber again helped with Men’s and women’s basketball, primarily working as T.O.C. and helping with pregame and post-game media. In March of 2023, Gerber became the sport contact for women’s tennis, a role he filled for the remainder of the season, including coverage in the Conference USA Tournament.
In the fall of 2022, he helped with the CUSA Champion Hilltopper Volleyball team, writing the game recaps for every home match. He also served as the Timeout Coordinator (T.O.C.) for the 2023 Conference USA Volleyball Tournament Championships. In December, he traveled with the WKU Football team to the New Orleans Bowl where he helped with media day, pictures, game-day operations, and post-game media following the nationally televised victory over South Alabama.
