2022 (r-Sr.) | 13/1: Shaw played in 13 of WKU's 14 games in 2022 while making one start. He made 19 tackles on the year including 0.5 sacks. His sack came in WKU's 44-23 victory over South Alabama in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, and he also made a season-high five tackles in that game. Shaw made his lone interception of the season on his senior day, a victory against Rice, and he broke up two passes in a winning effort at Charlotte.
2021 (r-Jr.) | 12/0: Shaw appeared in 12 games for WKU during the team's run to a Conference USA East Division Championship. He recorded 11 tackles on the year and forced one fumble. Shaw tallied three tackles in WKU's win at Rice.
Before WKU: Shaw appeared in 22 games in three seasons at North Carolina, with 19 tackles – including a tackle for loss – and a forced fumble. Had a career day vs. Mercer in 2019, with a career-high four tackles and a three-yard tackle for loss. Had two tackles and a forced fumble vs. Pitt in 2018. Played in all 12 games as a true freshman in 2017, then played four games in 2018 and redshirted, then played in six games in 2019. Did not compete in 2020, choosing to opt out before announcing his intention to transfer. Earned his undergraduate degree from North Carolina this fall.
HS/Misc.: Shaw played running back and defensive back for head coach Jermaine Smith at Cedar Grove HS, the same high school as Hilltopper DeAngelo Malone. Helped the Saints to a 13-2 record and GHSA 3A state title as they took down Greater Atlanta Christian, 30-19. Scored twice in the state title game, once on a 34-yard interception return and another on a 32-yard screen play. Was rated as a four-star by ESPN.com, which listed him as the No. 31 cornerback in the country. Considered the No. 32 cornerback in the country, No. 11 in the South and No. 4 in Georgia by Scout.com. In the 247Sports composite rankings, was listed as the No. 35 cornerback in the country and the No. 33 overall player in the state of Georgia.
