2019 (r-Sr.) | 13/13: Jernighan started all 13 games for the Hilltoppers in his final season, ranking fourth on the team with 32 receptions and 341 yards. He was a team captain for WKU's game vs. Florida Atlantic. Jernighan caught touchdown passes of 21 yards at Southern Miss and a go-ahead, six-yard score vs. Middle Tennessee. He had five "chunk" catches of 20-plus yards, including a season-long reception of 33 against the Blue Raiders. Jernighan capped his Hilltopper career with nine games with at least three receptions and eight contests with at least 20 yards.
2018 (r-Jr.) | 11/8: Jernighan started eight contests and appeared in 11 games as a redshirt junior, with a career-high 41 receptions and 437 yards, which ranked third and fourth on the Hilltoppers, respectively, in 2018. He tallied multiple receptions in 10 games and 30-plus yards in eight of those contests, including career-highs of seven catches and 82 yards vs. UTEP; he also had his lone touchdown of the season against the Miners, a 17-yard pass from Steven Duncan to open the scoring in the first quarter. Jernighan had another notable performance at Louisville, with five receptions for 77 yards against the Cardinals.
2017 (r-So.) | 13/6: Jernighan ranked fifth on the Hilltoppers with 36 receptions for 393 yards, while three touchdowns tied him for third-most on WKU. He had at least two receptions in nine games, including a season-high six for 81 yards at Old Dominion. Against the Monarchs, his 30-yard score with 7:41 remaining put the Hilltoppers ahead for good, 35-31. His two touchdown catches at Marshall were a career-high, as he recorded four catches for 50 yards overall against the Thundering Herd. He tallied four catches of 20-plus yards, including a career-long 46-yard reception vs. Middle Tennessee.
2016 (r-Fr.) | 8/1: Jernighan returned from an injury in fall camp to appear in the final eight games of the season and earn his first career start in the season finale against Memphis in the Boca Raton Bowl. He finished the season with five catches for 59 yards and one touchdown reception, a three-yard catch at Florida Atlantic. Jernighan had receptions in five of his eight appearances and a season-long of 20 against North Texas.
2015 (Fr.): Jernighan redshirted his first season on The Hill.
HS/Misc.: Jernighan prepped at LaVergne High School where he played for coach Stanton Stevens, tallying 25 receptions, 424 yards and five touchdown receptions, all team highs, to go along with 192 kick return yards and a 96 yard kick return touchdown. Jernighan was named a Daily News Journal All-Area second team member. He was a three-star signee by Rivals.com, ESPN, and 247Sports.com and was rated as the No. 20 player in Tennessee and No. 82 wide receiver nationally by 247Sports.com.
