Before WKU: Wilson's four-year career at Austin Peay was one of the greatest by a receiver in the program's history. Caught 162 passes for 2,672 yards (16.5 average) and 25 touchdowns, all three numbers ranking second behind Harold Roberts (1967-70) on the Austin Peay charts. Reached the 100-yard receiving mark in 12-of-33 games over his final three years, while adding five more games in the 90-yard range. Also added 32 punt returns for 328 yards (10.3 average) and 29 rushes for 125 yards (4.3 average). As a senior in 2020, had 44 receptions for 619 yards and three touchdowns in seven games, but averaged 7.4 receptions for 112.4 yards in five Ohio Valley Conference games with all three of his touchdowns. Earned First Team All-American status from both STATS Perform and the AFCA, and was voted 2020-21 OVC Offensive Player of the Year, the first Governor to do so since Sonny Defilippis in 1980. Was also First Team All-OVC and finished 15th in the voting as a Walter Payton Award Finalist. Had a career-high 10 receptions in back-to-back games to end the campaign on March 28 at Jacksonville State and April 3 vs. Murray State. Had a breakout year in 2019, with 89 catches for 1,564 yards and 15 touchdowns in 15 games, all of which were single-season Austin Peay records. Also added 60 rushing yards on eight carries and 22 punt returns for 211 yards. Was named a Second Team All-American by STATS and the Associated Press, while he was recognized as a First Teamer by HERO Sports. Earned Second Team All-OVC distinction as well. Had a career-highs of three touchdowns in the season-opener vs. NC Central and 161 yards on Oct. 26 at Tennessee Tech. As a sophomore in 2018, produced 28 catches for 478 yards and seven scores in 11 games, with 64 rushing yards on 20 carries and 10 punt returns for 117 yards. Saw time in 10 games as a freshman but only had one catch and one rush.
HS/Misc.: Wilson played for head coach Kevin Wallace at Bowling Green HS, helping lead the Purples to back-to-back Class 5A State Championships in 2015 and 2016. Was a three-year letterwinner, catching 153 career passes for 2,582 yards and 38 touchdowns. Was named First Team All-State and first team All-Sky Conference following his senior year. Also played basketball and was named First Team All-District and All-Region following his junior year. In his four seasons, the Purples won three state titles (also in 2013) and complied a 54-3 overall record. Majored in management at Austin Peay. Earned Dean's List recognition in Spring 2020 and Athletic Director's Honor Roll in Fall 2020 and Spring 2021.
