2019 (r-Sr.): Rinella did not see any time as a redshirt senior for WKU.
2018 (r-Jr.) | 12/12: As only 1-of-4 specialists in the FBS to serve as the place kicker, punter and kickoff man, Rinella produced in multiple different roles during the 2018 season. As a place kicker, he went 12-for-12 on extra points and 7-for-10 on field goal attempts, including 7-of-8 inside of 50 yards. Rinella notched a career-high 10 points scored vs. Old Dominion, then again vs. UTEP, going 4-for-4 on extra points and making two field goals in each contest; he also went 4-for-4 on extra points at Louisiana Tech. As a punter, Rinella made all 67 of WKU’s boots on the year, totaling 2,512 yards for a gross average of 37.5 yards. He only had four touchbacks and allowed seven returns for 72 yards, equaling to a net average of 35.2 yards, while forcing 31 fair catches, pinning 22 punts inside the 20 yard line and recording four kicks of 50-plus yards. Rinella’s most notable punting game was at Middle Tennessee, where he booted seven kicks for 340 yards, including four inside the 20 yard line and four of 50-plus yards; for his performance in Murfreesboro, he was named Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week. Rinella was also the Hilltoppers’ kickoff specialist for the third straight season, with 53 kicks for a total of 3,140 yards and a gross average of 59.2 yards. He kicked zero out of bounds, had 13 touchbacks and allowed 35 returns for 758 yards, equaling to a 38.8 net average.
2017 (r-So.) | 13/13: Rinella served as WKU’s kickoff specialist for the second consecutive season. Although he only took 62 kicks, he improved his numbers with 24 touchbacks to go along with a 62.1 yard average (3,849 yards). In the 62 kickoffs, he had only two go out of bounds.
2016 (r-Fr.) | 14/14: Rinella served as WKU’s kickoff specialist as a redshirt freshman and used a big leg to rack up 27 touchbacks on 100 kickoffs with a 61.5 yard average (6,153 yards). In 100 kickoffs, Rinella had only one go out of bounds. Rinella helped the Hilltoppers improve from 10 touchbacks the year before.
2015 (Fr.): Rinella redshirted his first season on The Hill.
HS/Misc.: Rinella handled the kicking and punting duties for Science Hill High School in Johnson City, Tenn., which was a squad that posted an 11-2 mark and advanced to the quarterfinals of the Tennessee High School Class 6A Playoffs his senior season.
