As a Sophomore (2015): In her first season on The Hill, Fry made an appearance in four games and got the starting nod in the season opener against UT Martin on Aug. 21... She played a season-high 32 minutes in that game.
Previous to WKU: Fry transfers to the Hill from Tennessee-Martin and is enrolled for the spring semester at WKU. She will have three seasons of eligibility, including the 2015 season, and adds a stout defensive presence to the WKU backline.
"We are excited to add Taylor Fry to our soccer program," said head coach Jason Neidell. "She brings some good college playing experience, having played nearly every minute this past fall as a freshman at UT-Martin. We expect Taylor to give us much-needed depth on our backline. She is also a wonderful young lady who will fit right in with our team. Most importantly, she gets the spring to adjust to a new environment before hitting the ground running this fall."
Fry started all 19 games for the Skyhawks as a true freshman and logged 1,734 minutes on the backline for the 12-win squad. An Ohio Valley Conference All-Newcomer Team selection, Fry played at least 75 minutes in all 19 matches and played every second in 16-of-19 matches. Her defensive prowess aided Tennessee-Martin in holding opponents to 19 goals on the entire season, including only five in the first half.n
She played her high school soccer at Harrison County High School and was a Second Team All-State selection as a senior. Fry sparked the Thorobreds to consecutive district titles in the 2012 and 2013 seasons and was named to the All-Region team during both postseason runs. She spent nine seasons playing with Lexington FC alongside current Lady Topper midfielder Sarah Gorham and represented Kentucky on the staters Olympic Development Program (ODP) team twice.
