ABOUT THE TOPS
- The Hilltoppers' 6-0-3 record marks the first time since 2008 that WKU has gone unbeaten through its first nine games, tying for the fourth-longest unbeaten streak in program history.
- Most recently, the Hilltoppers beat SEMO, 4-1, on Thursday night. Danielle Lewin scored the first goal of the match in the ninth minute after firing a shot past the goalkeeper off an assist from Alyvia Walls. Soon after, sisters Tyler Roth and Rebecca Roth connected to play the ball into the box for Makenna Egan, who scored with a header to double the lead. Cena Carlson joined in on the scoring in the 34th minute after an assist from Rose Finnegan, firing the ball past the RedHawks goalkeeper to make the score 3-0. In the 67th minute, Lewin headed the ball to Egan, who finished the play by heading the ball into the goal for the brace. The RedHawks managed to get on the board in the 83rd minute on one of SEMO's three shots in the match. The Hilltoppers finished the match with a 4-1 victory, extending their unbeaten streak to nine games.
- Between the posts, goalkeeper Mia Riddick has been a key part of the Hilltoppers' success, recording 26 saves while allowing just two goals this season. Riddick currently leads CUSA in goals-against average (0.27), saves, and shutouts per game (0.625), while ranking eighth nationally in GAA, second in save percentage (0.929), and third in shutouts (5). Riddick has also earned CUSA Goalkeeper of the Week honors twice this season.
- As a team, the Hilltoppers rank among the nation's best defensively, sitting 11th nationally in GAA (0.333) and save percentage (0.897) and 15th nationally in shutout percentage (0.667).
- For the season, forward Makenna Egan leads the Hilltoppers with four goals, two of which came in Thursday's game marking her first brace of the season. Egan's three game-winning goals this season rank second in CUSA and ninth nationally.
- Midfielder Georgia Liapis has provided a team-high four assists this season, a mark that ranks first in CUSA.
- Maggie Bellair has two goals and two assists this season and is the first Hilltopper to record multiple of each.
- The Hilltoppers have seen contributions throughout the lineup, with five other players finding the back of the net this season: April McDonald (3), Danielle Lewin (1), Cena Carlson (1), Tyler Roth (1) and Sophia Lezizidis (1).
- Abby Wiedermann has put on a defensive clinic throughout the first half of the season, anchoring the Hilltoppers' back line. Wiedermann has played 304 minutes in the last four matches while helping limit each of those opponents to fewer than 10 shots. Wiedermann has earned CUSA Defensive Player of the Week once this season.
- The Hilltoppers are led by Jason Neidell in his 26th season on The Hill as the only head coach in WKU women's soccer history. Neidell earned CUSA Coach of the Year honors last season.
- Sunday's match will be the first ever meeting between WKU and Lindenwood.
- Both teams have matched up against DePaul. WKU earned a 1-0 win, while Lindenwood suffered a 1-0 loss.
ABOUT THE LIONS
- Lindenwood enters the matchup with a 4-4-1 overall record, including wins over including wins over Bellarmine, Evansville, Murray State, and St. Thomas.
- Most recently, the Lions defeated St. Thomas 3-2 on Thursday in a match that saw four penalty kick conversions. The Lions took an early lead, saw the Tommies equalize twice, and secured the win in the 78th minute when midfielder Sami Roggenkamp converted her second penalty kick of the match.
- Forward Mackenzie Compton leads Lindenwood with three goals and an assist.
