HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a quiet first inning, Indiana State scored in the top of the second with a flare into center field that scored the runner from second base to give the Sycamores a 1-0 lead. The Sycamores then loaded the bases and hit a grand slam to take a five run lead with two outs in the second.
- Looking for an answer in the bottom half of the frame, WKU put runners on first and second with two outs and Daniel Stewart struck one down the right field line on a 3-2 count and cleared the bases with a two-RBI double.
- Parker Coley came to the plate and roped one into the left field corner to score Stewart from second with an RBI standup double to cut the deficit to 5-3.
- The Sycamores would add six runs over the next five innings before Lane Arroyos plated two on an RBI single and Reid Howard knocked in a run to make it an 11-6 final score.
