ABOUT THE TOPS
- The Hilltoppers enter the series with a 7-7 record after dropping a home midweek matchup with Cincinnati last Tuesday.
- Four of WKU's seven wins this season have come over Power Four opponents. This marks the first time since 2011 WKU has achieved such a feat.
- Offensively WKU boasts a .267 batting average with 10 home runs and 22 stolen bases.
- The Hilltoppers have hit 32 doubles on the year which leads Conference USA and ranks No. 15 in NCAA DI.
- WKU is led by Lane Arroyos who is hitting .365 with 15 RBIs on 19 hits in 48 plate appearances. Nine of Arroyos' 19 hits are either an extra base hit or a home run.
- Arroyos leads WKU with seven doubles which is the second most in the league and the 14th most in NCAA DI this season.
- Camden Ross and JP Acosta are also hitting above a .300 average. Ross is currently batting .319 with 12 RBIs on 15 hits while Acosta bats .314 with six RBIs on 16 hits along with two stolen bases.
- Acosta has four sacrifice bunts this season which leads CUSA and is sixth nationally.
- Reid Howard leads the team in stolen bases with nine on 11 attempts.
- Howard is currently the league leader and in the top-20 nationally.
- On the mound the Hilltoppers hold a 5.33 ERA with 129 strikeouts in 125 innings.
- Gavin Perry posts a 3.38 ERA with five earned runs on six hits allowed with 13 strikeouts.
- In his last start on Feb. 27 against Indiana Perry threw 5.0 innings and recorded six strikeouts while allowing no runs en route to his first win of the season.
SERIES HISTORY
- The two programs enter the weekend series having squared off 10 times.
- The Hilltoppers enter Tuesday's matchup with an all-time series lead of 5-4-1.
- The Hilltoppers boast a 3-2-1 lead over the Sycamores in Bowling Green.
- The lone tie in the series came in the second game of a doubleheader on April 2, 1984 in a 2-2 at Nick Denes Field.
- WKU won the last matchup between the two teams in a 6-5 win in Terre Haute on April 24, 1985.

- Indiana State enters the weekend series with a 6-6 record.Â
- Last time out, Indiana State took the series win over Penn State, taking the first two of the series and dropping the finale last Sunday. The series was held at a neutral site in the Bahamas.Â
- As a team, the Sycamores own a .246 batting average while scoring 6.2 runs per game.Â
- Offensively Indiana State is led by Jeremy Martinez who is batting .345 with five RBIs and 10 hits in 29 at bats. Martinez also holds a .474 on-base percentage and a .552 slugging percentage.
- On the mound, Indiana State posts a 6.64 ERA with 92 strikeouts in 110 innings.
- Individually, the Sycamores are led by Ty Brooks who posts a 1.23 ERA and a 16:3 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 22 innings pitched.
- The Sycamores were picked fifth in the Missouri Valley Conference Preseason Poll. Five players from Indiana State were named to the league's Players to Watch List including Jeremy Martinez and Ty Brooks.
