ABOUT THE TOPS
- The Tops improved to 15after a perfect 5-0 weekend hosting the Hilltopper Spring Fling. The Hilltoppers also outscored their opponents, 41-10.
- WKU set a new single-game program record for home runs with six against IU Indy on Friday, Feb. 27. Annie White, Kennedy Stinson, Maci Masters, Kendle White, Morgan Sharpe, and Charlotte Herron all collected a four-bagger.
- Erica Houge threw WKU's 14 no-hitter in program history against IU Indy on Sunday, March 1. On the weekend, the sophomore threw 18 total innings and gave up only two hits and one earned run. She posted a 0.39 ERA and opponents posted only a .036 batting average while she fanned nine.
- Erica Houge earned her second CUSA Pitcher of the Week honor in addition to being named Softball America's Star Pitcher of the Week and D1 Softball's Mid-Major Pitcher of the Week.
- WKU hit .385 over the weekend, led by Annie White who hit .529. White slashed .529/.500/.733 including nine hits, two doubles, and two home runs. She also totaled a team-high eight RBI over the weekend.
- Annie White earned her first Conference USA Player of the Week award of her career on Monday after a weekend that saw the junior slash .529/.600/1.059. She finished the weekend going 9-for-17 with nine hits, three doubles, two home runs, and a team-high eight RBI.
- White's cumulative .463 batting average is ranked fourth in CUSA. Her 22 RBI are also tied for first.
- The Hilltoppers' offense was nothing short of lethal over the weekend, totaling 22 extra base hits. Of those 22 XBH, the Tops hit a total of 13 home runs.
- Morgan Sharpe's home run on Friday was a career first for the senior.
- Head Coach Amy Tudor earned her 600th career win against IU Indy on Friday. 380 of her 603 total wins have come on The Hill in her 13 seasons at the helm of WKU Softball.
- WKU Softball is hunting both its best start and longest win streak in program history. No Hilltopper team has performed better than 17-3 through the first 20 games or won more than 12 in a row.
- WKU is ranked in the top 25 amongst all DI NCAA softball teams in batting average (25t .352), ERA (16th, 2.14) and WHIP (7th, 1.00) and ranked amongst the top 30 in slugging percentage (28th, .575).
- Against conference opponents, WKU is ranked first in both batting average and ERA.
- Maci Masters is just short of halfway to breaking the program's single-season home run record set by Taylor Saunders in 2024 with 17. Masters currently has eight through the first 18 games.
