BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Softball continues its 12-game homestand with the Hilltopper Spring Fling on Feb. 27 – March 1. The Tops's five games include Illinois, IU Indy, and Ball State.
The Hilltoppers enter the weekend with a 10-3 record and are coming off a perfect, 4-0 weekend at the Hilltopper Classic.

ABOUT THE TOPS
- The Tops improved to 10-3 after a perfect 4-0 weekend hosting the 25th annual Hilltopper Classic. The Hilltoppers also outscored their opponents, 33-7.
- WKU hit a staggering .443 over the weekend led by Morgan Sharpe who hit .667. Sharpe also had the best on-base percentage at .727.
- While Sharpe was the most consistent, WKU's offense produced a total of six home runs over the four games, the most of any four-game span so far.
- Maci Masters and Kennedy Stinson both recorded two while Annie White and Anna Mauck contributed the final two.
- In the circle, Erica Houge led the way with two wins and a 1.17 ERA while both she and Rylan Smith collected seven strikeouts each.
- WKU is ranked in the Top 25 amongst all DI NCAA softball teams in ERA (19th, 2.17) and WHIP (12th, 1.10) and ranked amongst the Top 50 in batting average (44th, .339).
- Against conference opponents, WKU is ranked first in both batting average and ERA.
- Over the last 13 games, the Hilltoppers are currently hitting .339. Over that same number of games in 2025, WKU posted a .305 batting average. The last time WKU hit better than .339 through the first 13 games.

- The Hilltoppers own a 6-1 record against the Jaguars, including a four-game win streak. The two teams have also only played at the WKU Softball Complex.
- Ball State
- WKU has a 7-3 record against the Cardinals, including a 1-3 record when playing in Bowling Green. The Tops are on a three-game win streak against Ball State.
- Fighting Illini
- Illinois has posted a 5-9 record through the first three weekends featuring wins over Bradley and a split between Akron.
- Leading Illinois offense is Adisyn Caryl with a batting average of .405. She's collected 17 hits and has scored a total of seven runs. Second in the Fighting Illini offense is Ellie Haggard who has 12 RBI, four home runs, and a .342 batting average.
- In the circle, Abby Sabalaskey leads with a 2.23 ERA. In her 37.2 innings of work, she's allowed 41 hits and 12 earned runs, while collecting 26 strikeouts.
- Jaguars
- IU Indy has posted a 3-8 record through the first three weekends with a win over Wofford and a split against Kent State.
- The Jags are currently hitting .294 with Molly Kable leading with a .464 batting average. She's also slashing a .464/.821/.579 with thirteen hits and eight RBI. Second for the Jags is Paige McPhearson who's slashing .423/.634/.731.
- Lily Roush leads the Jags in the circle with a 5.06 ERA with 27 hits in 18 innings pitched. She also fanned 10 and allowed five walks.
- Cardinals
- Ball State is 4-4 overall through the first three weekends featuring a win over Memphis and a sweep over Long Island.
- Leading Ball State's offense is Skylinn Pogue with a .462 batting average,12 hits, and 8 runs scored. She's also slashing a .462/.500/.531. Second for the Cardinals is Ella Whitney with a .462 batting average. She's also posting a .462/.531/.500 slash line.
- In the circle, Grace Gray is leading with a 2.86 ERA. In her 14.2 innings of work, she's allowed 14 hits, 6 earned runs, while collecting 14 strikeouts.
