RICHMOND, Ky. – WKU Women's Tennis battled to a 5-2 victory against UNC Asheville on Saturday at the Greg Adams Tennis Center in Richmond, Kentucky.
The Lady Toppers claimed five victories in singles – from Isabelle Einess, Andra Sirbu, Emily Schut, Virginia Madueño and Ariadna Fernandez – to win their second straight match. With the victory over the Bulldogs (1-3), WKU has now won five of its last six matches to improve to 5-4 this season.

- Virginia Madueño improved to 7-1 in singles play this season. She has won six consecutive matches. Madueño is now 3-0 at the No. 4 position.
- Ariadna Fernandez improved to 5-3 in singles play this season, including 4-2 at the No. 6 position.
- WKU Women's Tennis Head Coach Greg Davis has 342 career wins as a head coach. He entered the season tied for 23rd nationally in wins among active NCAA Division I Women's Tennis head coaches with at least five years as a Division I head coach, counting all victories as a coach at a four-year institution. Davis entered the season with a career winning percentage of .637, which ranked 36th among that group of coaches.
- Davis has collected 83 wins at WKU, which ranks third in program history. He is four wins from being tied with Betty Langley for second in coaching wins in program history.
