WINSTON SALEM, N.C. – WKU Women's Tennis redshirt sophomore Isabelle Einess advanced to the finals of the ITA Summer Series: Points Race Series event last weekend at Wake Forest.
"Great effort by Isabelle playing in a very difficult draw in Winston Salem," WKU Women's Tennis Head Coach Greg Davis said. "It's great to see her continued improvement as our first fall tournament is quickly coming up in September."
Einess claimed four victories in the tournament, which took place June 12-14, in Winston Salem, North Carolina, while competing in the Women's Open Singles category in Flight A.
She opened play Friday with a Round of 32 victory over Diana Higgins, 6-1, 6-0. Einess defeated Virginia's Blair Gill by retirement in the Round of 16 later in the day Friday, and followed with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over North Carolina State's Georgia Cranford on Saturday. Einess defeated North Carolina's Mary Grace Rennard 6-1, 6-2 in a semifinal match on Saturday to advance to the finals, where she fell in a close match to Sarah Delgado, 6-3, 4-6, 10-7, on Sunday.
Einess completed her first season with the Lady Toppers in 2026, where she played each of her singles matches at the No. 1 position and claimed nine victories. She added eight wins in doubles matches.
The Lady Toppers finished the 2026 season with an 11-14 record, marking the fifth straight season the program has reached double-digit wins. It is the second time in program history WKU Women's Tennis has accomplished that, also doing so between the 2009-13 seasons. The Lady Toppers have won 73 matches over the last five seasons, which is the highest win total over a five-year period in program history.
