ABOUT THE TOPS
- WKU opens up the January slate of the 2025-26 indoor schedule with the first of three straight competition weeks Friday and Saturday.
- The Hilltoppers last competed at the Winter Commodore Challenge; a single day meet back on December 6, 2025.
- In total, three Hilltoppers set a personal best at the single day meet.
- Sam Crenshaw headlined action for WKU as he broke his own pole vault school record for a new program mark of 5.11 meters.
- Crenshaw currently holds the top-four all-time best pole vault marks in WKU Indoor Track and Field history.
- Jackson Tweed also set a personal best mark in the pole vault with a 4.41 meter vault.
- Wade Balcom set a personal best mark in the 600 meter run, checking in at 1:19, good for third place.
- Sophia Roskoski managed a fifth place finish in the women's pole vault and set the fifth best mark in program history (3.95 meters).
MEET HISTORY
- This weekend's meet will mark the second consecutive season that the Tops have competed in the McCravy Memorial Invitational.
- At the meet last season, WKU finished with four Hilltoppers setting a new personal best mark.
- Kameron Horton headlined action as he managed a 10th place mark in the 60-meter semis and at the time a personal best mark of 6.85.
- This season's invitational marks the 31st annual Rod McCravy Memorial Invitational.
- Rod McCravy, whom the meet is named after, was a standout track athlete at Kentucky who tragically passed away in 1987. The native Kentuckian won multiple KHSAA State Championships in the 400-hurdles.
EVENT BREAKDOWN
- Friday, the women's and men's high jump is set for 11 a.m. CT. That will be followed by the weight throw and long jump and field action will wrap up with the women's pole vault at 2:30 p.m.
- Track events Friday start with the men's and women's 60-meter dash qualifiers at 2 p.m. followed by the 60-meter hurdles.
- The final event Friday will be the 1000-meter, set to get underway at 7 p.m.
- Saturday starts off with the men's pole vault at 10 a.m. followed by the shot put and triple jump.
- Track events start at 11 a.m. with the mile and are followed by the 300-meter at 11:40.
- The 800-meter and 3000-meter races are the last two individual track events of the meet, set for 12:10 p.m. and 12:40 p.m. respectively.
- The two-day meet will culminate with the 4x400-meter relays at 1:40 p.m. (All times listed are Central Standard Time).
