ABOUT THE TOPS
• The Hilltoppers enter the series with a 35-10 (11-7 CUSA) record after a 6-4 midweek win over Kentucky.
• 26 of WKU's 35 wins have come at Nick Denes Field. The Hilltoppers have built on the best home start in program history, entering the series with a 26-1 record at The Nick.
• WKU's pitching staff has been dominant thus far, as their 3.04 ERA ranks as the best in the nation. The Hilltoppers are one of two teams in the nation with a sub-3.10 ERA, joining Texas.
• Four Hilltopper arms received midseason recognition from media outlets. Weekend rotation starters Drew Whalen and Jack Bennett were named to the National Pitcher of the Year Watch List by the College Baseball Hall of Fame while Cal Higgins and Lucas Hartman were selected to the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Watch List.Â
• On the offensive end, the Tops' 98 doubles and 101 stolen bases lead the conference while their .309 batting average sits at second in CUSA. Nationally, WKU ranks 23rd in stolen bases, 27th in batting average and 23rd in doubles.
• Hilltopper outfielder Ryan Wideman's .414 batting average, 77 hits, five triples, 123 total bases and 35 stolen bases lead CUSA. The Marietta, Ga. native is top five in CUSA in batting average (.414), runs (52), hits (77), doubles (18), triples (5), RBI (49), total bases (122) and stolen bases (35). Nationally, he ranks 16th in batting average, fifth in hits, 17th in doubles and sixth in stolen bases.
• Four of the top 15 doubles hitters in CUSA are Hilltoppers. Wideman is second in the league with 18, Carlos Vasquez ranks third with 17, Kyle Hayes sits at 11 with 13 and Ethan Lizama is 13th with 12.

• This will be the 52nd, 53rd and 54th all-time meetings between WKU and LA Tech.
• The Bulldogs lead the all-time series 32-19, dating back to the first meeting in 1992.
• LA Tech took all three games against the Hilltoppers last season in Ruston, La.

• LA Tech is coming off a midweek win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff at home and a series loss against Dallas Baptist last weekend at home.
• As a team, the Bulldogs own a .268 batting average while scoring 7.2 runs per game.
