DALLAS – WKU Baseball dropped the series finale to #17 Dallas Baptist 5-1 on Sunday afternoon at Horner Ballpark.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• DBU scored in the first inning on an RBI groundout and a sacrifice fly to take a 2-0 lead.
• Drew Barragan put the Tops on the board in the fifth with an RBI groundout.
• A WKU passed ball allowed a run to score in the sixth to give the Patriots a 3-1 advantage.
• Two insurance runs scored in the eighth for Dallas Baptist with a two-run home run.

NOTABLES
• WKU moves to 27-5 (6-3 CUSA) on the season and 5-7 all-time against Dallas Baptist.
• Drew Whalen made his eighth start of the year on the mound. In 3.0 frames, the sophomore went without a strikeout while allowing two runs on two hits and two walks.
• Taylor Penn, Treyson Peters and Evan Jones saw action out of the bullpen. Penn surrendered one unearned run on three hits in 3.0 innings with a couple of strikeouts. Jones tossed a scoreless inning and collected one strikeout.
• The WKU offense scored one run on six hits and nine free passes with one RBI.
• Carlos Vasquez had the only multi-hit outing in a 2-for-4 day.
• Barragan had the lone RBI in a 1-for-3 outing.

• WKU will return home for a midweek contest with Southern Indiana on Tuesday, April 8. First pitch from Nick Denes Field is set for 5 p.m. CT.
