ABOUT THE TOPS
- In the men's 800 all four Hilltoppers set a new personal best with Wade Balcom leading the way with a 1:52 mark, claiming 14th place. Trevor Hudnall followed suit in the event with a 16th place finish and a mark of 1:52. Hollis Johnson and Rowen Wilkinson finished with PR's as well.
- The women's 800 saw Addie Frisch set a personal best mark of 2:16, taking 16th place. Tatum Maschhoff also finished with a PR of 2:23.
- In the men's 200, Sterling Weldon set a PR of 21.39, good for 14th place. Zachariah Taylor led the way for WKU in the event with a sixth place finish.
- In the men's 400 hurdles, Henry Fisher set a personal best with a time of 54.91 which was good enough for 16th place. Gianna Huerta's mark of 1:03 in the women's event was good enough for 17th place and a PR mark.
- The Tops saw a pair of PR's in the men's 110-meter hurdles with both competitors finishing in the top-10. Van Thrasher's personal record of 14.22 earned him a fourth place finish.
- The men's 4x100 relay team had a season best finish in the event with a mark of 40.35, good for second place. This stands at No. 48 in the NCAA East Region and No. 82 in all of NCAA DI.
- In the men's 100 meter dash, Zachariah Taylor managed a PR with a 10.48 finish, good for 11th place.
- In the women's 1500, in her outdoor debut, Kalina Urbaniak managed a top-five finish, setting a new personal best of 4:34.35. Also making her outdoor debut for WKU, Nayla Martin set a new PR in the 1500 with a 4:35.79 finish, good for sixth place.
- Natalie Papes managed a new personal best in the pole vault with a mark of 3.81, good for second place.
EVENT BREAKDOWN
- Action Friday will kick off with the women's and men's hammer throw, scheduled for 1:30 p.m. The long jump will follow at 2 p.m. The final field event Friday, the women's pole vault is set for 3 p.m. (All times Central Daylight)
- On the track Friday afternoon the 400 meter hurdles will run at 3:30 p.m. The final track event Friday, the 3,000 meter steeplechase is set for 5:30 p.m.
- Saturday, field events get underway at 11 a.m. with the women's and men's discus. The final event, the triple jump is set for 11:30 a.m.
- For track events on Saturday, the 4x100 relays will kick things off at 11:40 a.m. followed by the 5,000 meter race at noon.
- The 4x400 relays will close out the meet with a 2:30 p.m. start time.
SCOUTING THE FIELD
- The Hilltoppers will be competing against the likes of some regional DI foes in Bellarmine, Butler, EKU, Indiana, Louisville, Morehead State, Murray State, Penn State, SIU, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and the host Wildcats.
- Other teams from Kentucky that will be making the trip to Lexington include Asbury, Kentucky State, Transylvania, and Union College.
