HOW IT HAPPENED
Action on the track opened up with a couple of personal bests in the men's 110-meter hurdles. Van Thrasher led the way with a fourth place mark and Ricardo Smith followed suit with a seventh place finish.
Brunel Desinor managed a top-20 finish in the men's 400. Joey Raybourne charted a PR as well. In the women's race, Morgan Moore had her season best mark of 1:04.
The men's 4x100 relay team had a season best finish with a mark of 40,35, earning the team a second-place finish. This stands in the top-50 in the NCAA East Region and the top-85 in all of NCAA DI.
A trio of Hilltoppers managed personal bests in the women's 1500. The duo of Kalina Urbaniak and Nayla Martin finished fifth and sixth and Addie Frisch finished within the top-20. In the men's 1500, Trevor Hudnall managed a season best finish.
In the women's pole vault, Natalie Papes secured the first PR in field events with a mark of 3.81, good for a second place finish.
NOTABLES
- In total, the Hilltoppers managed eight new personal bests when the action concluded Saturday. Both teams managed four apiece.
- The Tops saw a pair of PR's in the men's 110-meter hurdles with both competitors finishing in the top-10. Van Thrasher's personal record of 14.22 earned him a fourth place finish.
- Ricardo Smith also set a PR in the event with a time of 14.49, good for seventh place.
- In the men's 400 meter dash, Joey Raybourne set a PR with a time of 50.11.
- In the women's 400, Morgan Moore had a season best finish of 1:04.76.
- The men's 4x100 relay team had a season best finish in the event with a mark of 40.35, good for second place. This stands at No. 48 in the NCAA East Region and No. 82 in all of NCAA DI.
- In the men's 100 meter dash, Zachariah Taylor managed a PR with a 10.48 finish, good for 11th place.
- In the women's 1500, in her outdoor debut, Kalina Urbaniak managed a top-five finish, setting a new personal best of 4:34.35.
- Also making her outdoor debut for WKU, Nayla Martin set a new PR in the 1500 with a 4:35.79 finish, good for sixth place.
- Addie Frisch also set a PR in the event with a time of 4:44.98.
- Natalie Papes managed a new personal best in the pole vault with a mark of 3.81, good for second place.
NEXT UP
WKU will travel to Lexington, Ky. for the Jim Green Invitational on Friday and Saturday, May 2-3. The meet will be hosted by the University of Kentucky.
