Macy Gregor hit her first home run as a Hilltopper (21-18 overall, 7-10 CUSA) while Kennedy Stinson grabbed her fifth of the season for a 2-RBI shot. Tied 3-3 in the bottom of the seventh, MTSU (21-22 overall, 9-9 CUSA) grabbed the win with a walk-off home run.
HOW IT HAPPENED
WKU 3, MTSU 4
Scoreless through the first, Annie White singled to third base to set the stage for Stinson. With the first pitch of her at-bat, Stinson sent the ball over the left field wall for a 2-RBI shot to put the Hilltoppers up, 2-0, in the second.
Erica Houge earned her 10th start of the season and after a 1-2-3 first inning, generated two ground outs and her first strikeout of the day to keep MTSU off the board.
In the bottom of the third, MTSU scored three after a home run and two back-to-back hits.
Down 3-2 in the top of the fifth, Gregor took a page out of Stinson's book and swung on the first pitch of her at-bat and snuck the ball just past the right field wall. Gregor's home run was both her first of the season and first as a Hilltopper.
Both sides were scoreless across the sixth, with MTSU's Jana Want hitting the walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh for the win.
