NASHIVLLE, Tenn. – WKU Softball cruised to an 8-3 win over Lipscomb on Tuesday thanks to home runs from both Annie White and Randi Drinnon.
The Hilltoppers (18-15 overall, 4-7 CUSA) combined for a total of 11 hits while the pitching staff fanned four and gave up six hits to the Bisons (18-17 overall, 5-4 ASUN).
HOW IT HAPPENED
WKU 8, Lipscomb 3
Annie White led off the top of the second inning with a triple down the left field line with Charlotte Herron finishing it off with a single to right field for the RBI.
Neither side scored for the next three innings until the top of the sixth.
Maci Masters led off with a single through the left side while White followed up with a single of her own to the other side of the field.
With runners on first and second, Herron grabbed her second hit of the game with a double that also earned her second RBI of the day.
A deep fly ball to centerfield from Morgan Sharpe pushed another Hilltopper across for the third run of the game and Sharpe's first RBI.
Drinnon's first home run of the season wasted no time going over the left field wall for a two-RBI blast.
By the middle of the sixth inning, the Hilltoppers were up 5-0 on the Bisons.
In the home half of the inning, Lipscomb pulled together three runs to shorten WKU's lead to two.
Both Maci Masters and Kaytlan Kemp earned a spot on the base paths after both reached thanks to fielder's choice.
With runners on first and second, White registered her fourth long ball of the season over the left center wall for three total RBI.

- Annie White's fourth home run of the season sets a new season record for the sophomore, having earned three in 2024.
- Three Hilltopper pitchers saw action in the circle, Rylan Smith, Maddy Wood, and Erica Houge combined for four strikeouts.
- Randi Drinnon's home run marked the first for her so far in 2025, her most recent long ball coming on March 15, 2024, against FIU.
