BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- After capping off their 2025 tournament schedule in Bowling Green, the WKU Softball team will head to Huntsville, Texas to open their 2025 Conference USA schedule.

SERIES INFO VS SAM HOUSTON
- The Hilltoppers will meet Sam Houston for the fourth time in program history. WKU leads the all-time series, 3-0.
- This will be the first time WKU plays in Huntsville as SHSU joined Conference USA in 2024.
ABOUT THE TOPS
- The Hilltoppers are currently 13-6 with wins over Troy and Belmont.
- Despite the Hilltopper series batting average dropping from .371 to .261, the Tops scored only one less run (26) than they did in the Hilltopper Classic (27).
- WKU had its first multi-home run game of the 2025 season against Tennessee Tech on Feb. 28. Sophomore Maci Masters hit her fourth of the season while freshman Kennedy Stinson hit her first collegiate home run.
- In the bullpen, Rylan Smith once again had a standout performance with nine strikeouts in the game against Tennessee Tech on March 2.
- Rylan Smith also leads CUSA in batters struck out looking with 18. She is also ranked seventh in ERA at 2.13.
- Freshman right-hander Erica Houge also joins Smith on the conference ERA leaderboard, ranked 10th with a 2.80 ERA.
- Western Kentucky collected a weekend-high six hits against Tennessee Tech on March 2.
- The five home runs for the Hilltoppers is the most in a three-game span so far this season. Maci Masters was responsible for two, while Annie White, Kennedy Stinson, and Katie Murphy had one each.
ABOUT THE BEARKATS
- As a team, Sam Houston is ranked ninth in batting average at .247.
- Their pitching staff is currently fourth in CUSA—just behind WKU in third—with a 2.91 ERA, led by Abigail Young who leads in the conference with a 0.74 ERA.
- On offense, Brodie Quinlan leads the way with a .367 batting average through 21 games. She's collected a total of 22 hits, four of which were home runs. She also has the best slugging percentage on the team at .700. She also carries a team-high five stolen bases.
- Quinlan is also fourth in the conference in doubles with six and is sixth in the conference in home runs with four.
- In their bullpen, Amy Abke sits sixth in CUSA in total strikeouts with 35.
- Abigail Young has given up 28 hits in 38 innings of work while Amy Abke has allowed 39 in 34.1 innings of work.
