AT THE MEET
- This weekend's meet will mark the first ever Brent Chumbley Memorial Hilltopper Relays. The meet was previously known as the Hilltopper Relays but was renamed following the devastating loss of beloved track and field head coach Brent Chumbley earlier this year.
- The meet is free for any spectators to attend.
- Saturday will mark senior day for WKU Track and Field athletes with the ceremony taking place at 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
- WKU Athletics will also be honoring All-American Gayle Harris Watkins on Saturday at 11:45 a.m. More information can be found here.
- Anyone attending the meet can park in Parking Structure 1, Parking Structure 2, or the Adams Street Lot. Parking zones can be found here.
HONORING THE LEGACY OF BRENT CHUMBLEY
- On January 30, WKU Athletics suffered a tragic loss in track and field head coach Brent Chumbley.
- On March 4, the program announced that the annual home meet known as the Hilltopper Relays would further be known as the Brent Chumbley Memorial Hilltopper Relays, honoring the legacy of a beloved member of the WKU, Bowling Green, and track and field communities.
- At the 2025 Conference USA Indoor Championships Chumbley was given the honor of CUSA Women's Coach of the Year posthumously by Lance Bingham of Liberty.
EVENT BREAKDOWN
- The relays will get underway on Friday morning at 11 a.m. CT with the men's hammer throw and women's shot put.
- The men's and women's 200 meter dash will kick off the track events Friday at 1:30 p.m. The 5000 meter races will close out action Friday at 5 p.m.
- On Saturday, things get underway at 9 a.m. with the men's and women's discus.Â
- At 11:45 a.m. WKU Athletics will retire the jersey of Gayle Harris Watkins with the 4x100 meter relays set to follow at 12:05 p.m.Â
- Senior recognition will take place at 1 p.m. Alli Arnett, Kaison Barton, Nick Fornoff, Rachel Payne, Aitana Safont Falomir, and Luke Stegman will all be honored for their dedication to the program.
- The last field event of the meet, the javelin throw is set for 2:30 p.m.
- The final events of the meet, the 4x400 relays are set for 4:40 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.

ABOUT THE TOPSÂ
- Last time out, WKU competed in the Margaret Simmons Invitational on Friday and Saturday, March 21-22.
- On the first day of events, six Hilltoppers managed new personal bests.Â
- Zachariah Taylor claimed a pair of first place finishes in the 100 and 200. He took the victory in the 200 and qualified for the final in the 100 meter dash.
- Kaison Barton managed a pair of second place finishes in the hammer throw and the shot put. His mark in the hammer throw is a career best at 60.27 meters. It is also the second best mark in program history.
- Luke Stegman claimed first place in the discus with a throw of 50.93 meters.
- On Saturday Devon Rogers took the win in the men's javelin throw picking up where he left off in the 2024 outdoor campaign.
- Van Thrasher took the victory in the men's long jump with a mark of 7.01.
- Jayden Freeman won his first event as a Hilltopper with a victory in the 100 meter dash. Zachariah Taylor followed behind in second place.Â
SCOUTING THE FIELD
- In-state foe Bellarmine will be making the trip down I-65 to compete against WKU this weekend.Â
- Joining them from the Music City will be Belmont.
- Brescia will also be making the trip from Owensboro, Ky.Â
