WKU Softball Signs Four to 2026 Class

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- WKU Softball is excited to announce their signing class for 2026. The class includes two players from Tennessee, one from Iowa, and a local signee from Bowling Green, Ky.

"We are thrilled to officially welcome these four athletes to our program," said head coach Amy Tudor. "We add three strong and competitive arms to our circle and power with some speed to our offense. We are looking forward to their arrival on The Hill next season."

Layla Ogden
Bowling Green, Kentucky | South Warren High School | RHP | 5'10
Ogden is a seven-year varsity member of South Warren softball and was the 2025 14th District All-District MVP. During the 2025 season posted a .529 batting average with 24 home runs to tie the all-time state single-season record in home runs. She also finished with 75 RBI to rank fourth all-time in single-season RBI. In the same season, she posted a 1.228 slugging percentage, went 12-1 in the circle with a 1.10 ERA and 105 strikeouts. She also posted two perfect games to tie for the most career perfect games in the state of Kentucky.
Ogden was also the 2025 Class 3A Player of the Year, earned National Player of the Week, and was named a 2025 NFCA Second Team All-American. Her 24 home runs in 2025 also placed her seventh in home runs nationally.

Kaylor West
Hendersonville, Tennessee | Liberty Creek High School | RHP | 5'11
West is a four-year letterman in both softball and basketball at Liberty Creek. She earned All-District accolades from 2023-2025, played in the All-District Tournament twice, and reached the All-Region Tournament once. She led her team to two District Two AA Tennessee state championships in 2023 and 2024 and placed in the top five in the Alliance Tier I Nationals in 2025 and received a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
While at Liberty Creek, West was named an All-County Pitcher, an All-Region pitcher, and was named to the District Two AA All-State Team twice during her career. After the 2025 season, she was also named the 2025 Max Preps Player of the Year in the state of Tennessee.

Chezney Whipker
Hickory, Tennessee | Green Hill High School | INF | 5'4
A three-year varsity member of Green Hill softball and a two-year member in basketball, Whipker was a 2023 Tennessee Division I AAAA State Champion. In 2025, Whipker and Green Hill were runner-ups in the Tennessee Division I Class AAAA State tournament. Lastly, in 2024, Whipker finished in the top eight in the same state tournament.
Whipker was named to the District 9 AAAA All-Freshman team in 2024 and was named to the District 12 AAAA All-District Team in 2024 and 2025. In 2024, she was also named to the Alliance National Championship Series All-Tournament team.

Delaney Mathews
Treynor, Iowa | Treynor Community School | LHP | 5'11
Mathews is three-sport athlete at Treynor Community School, playing softball, basketball, and is a member of the track team. She's a four-year member of the softball team and posted a career-best .559 batting average in 2025. In that same season, Mathews posted a .983 slugging percentage and an OPS of 1.670. Throughout her high school career, she's collected a total of 20 home runs and posted a 1.20 ERA and 0.95 WHIP during the 2025 season.
She was named 1st Team All-Conference three years straight from 2023-2025 and was named to the Iowa Girls Coaches Association Class AA Southwest District Team in that same time span. In 2025, Mathews earned a spot on the 2025 All-State Team and was named 1st Team All-District AA.
