BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Hilltopper Track and Field is set to compete in the 2024 Conference USA Outdoor Championships, Friday, May 10 through Sunday, May 12. The meet will be hosted by UTEP.Â
The occasion marks the third straight year the conference championship is taking place in the Lone Star State: 2023 (Dallas), and 2022 (San Antonio). The meet will be streamed on ESPN+ starting at 6:30 p.m. Friday, 7:00 p.m. Saturday, and 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

On the championship weekend, head coach Brent Chumbley said "We have a chance to do some really good things this weekend. If we stay focused and execute, we can score well in our events."
Last time out, the Hilltoppers competed in the Music City Challenge where Katie Isenbarger again broke her own school record, clearing 1.88 meters. The performance earned Isenbarger her second CUSA Field Athlete of the Week Honor this season. Her jump also ranks in the top-five in all of NCAA DI.
Another high jumper, Nick Fornoff, tied his personal best at the Music City Challenge, clearing an even 2.00 meters. On the track, Trevor Hudnall managed a personal best of 3:52 in the 1600.
The three day meet kicks off Friday with the decathlon and heptathlon at 10:30 a.m. The men's javelin throw will start at 4:30 p.m. The final field event of Friday will be the women's shot put, slated for 8:30 p.m. On the track, the men's and women's 1500 prelims will run at 7:00 p.m. The final event of the night will be the 10,000 meter race, scheduled for 9:20 and 10 p.m.
Saturday, the second portion of the decathlon and heptathlon will get underway at 10:00 a.m. with the final leg of those finishing up at 3:15 p.m. The women's hammer throw will highlight the field events, slated for 5:30 p.m. The men's high jump will be the final field event, scheduled for 8:00 p.m. The first track event, the 800 prelims, is set for 7:30 with the final event of day two being the 3,000 steeplechase, set for 10:00 p.m.
Sunday, the discus will start the final day of events at 1:00 p.m. The women's high jump team and Katie Isenbarger will compete at 8:00 p.m. in the final field event of the meet. The track events get underway at 7:00 p.m. with the 4x100 relays. The 1,500 final, the 100 and 110 hurdle finals, and the 200 finals will highlight the rest of the evening with the meet commencing with the 4x400 relays at 9:50 p.m.
