DALLAS – Two WKU Baseball players earned Conference USA postseason honors, as announced by league officials Tuesday afternoon.
Â
Sophomore pitcher Dawson Hall was named to the All-CUSA second team while freshman pitcher Drew Whalen was selected to the all-freshman team.
Â
Hall was named to the All-CUSA second team for the second consecutive year despite appearing in only 10 games with seven starts. Hall was red hot out the gate, allowing just two runs through his first 18.0 innings pitched. The right-hander was sidelined for nearly a month before making a return in early April with a role primarily out of the bullpen. In 32.0 innings, the Bowling Green native has a 3-0 record with a 1.69 ERA and 25 strikeouts.
Â
In his first collegiate season, Whalen found himself in the starting rotation when Hall went down with injury. He appeared in 13 games while making eight starts with four coming in CUSA play. He went 2-3 with a 5.08 ERA in 33.1 innings pitched and 23 strikeouts.
Â
Three-seeded WKU opens play at the 2024 CUSA Baseball Championships on Wednesday, May 22, against No. 6-seeded FIU. First pitch at Pat Patterson Park in Ruston, La. is set for 9 a.m. CT.
