DALLAS – Sophomore Lucas Litteral was named the Conference USA Pitcher of the Week, as announced by league officials Monday afternoon.

Litteral, a native of Paintsville, Ky., had a career-night in a relief outing when he helped lead the Tops to an 11-9 win over New Mexico State to even the series on Thursday. The southpaw registered, a career-high, seven strikeouts in the longest outing of his career at WKU while only conceding one run on two hits and no walks. He earned the winning decision and improved his overall record to 4-2.

Litteral finished the 2024 regular season campaign with 19 appearances and a 3.90 ERA while recording two saves. He had 40 strikeouts in 30.0 innings of work with an opponent's batting average of .252.

This marks the second CUSA Pitcher of the Week and fourth overall weekly award for the Hilltoppers this season as sophomore Jack Bennett received it after his career outing in a win against No. 8 Dallas Baptist and juniors Blake Cavill and Brady Browning earned CUSA Hitter of the Week honors during nonconference play.

Litteral and the Hilltoppers begin CUSA Championships play against [6] FIU on Wednesday, May 22 at Pat Patterson Park in Ruston, La. First pitch is scheduled for 9 a.m. CT.
