CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – It was a successful first round in the Chattanooga Classic for the Lady Tops. WKU currently boasts three players in the top-20 and are sitting in second place going into the second round. The Lady Tops currently trail East Tennessee State by a single stroke.
Leading the way for the Red and White was Catie Craig. Coming off of a record-breaking Spring Break Shootout, the junior is currently tied for third in the field. Craig started out strong, putting in two of her three birdies on her first two holes. The Georgia native shot a 1-under 70 in the first round.
Right behind Craig is graduate student Sarah Arnold. Arnold currently sits in the top-10 for the Lady Tops as she is currently tied for ninth. Arnold posted a 1-over 72 in the first round after putting in two birdies and meeting par on 13 of her 18 holes.
Sydney Hackett is also having a solid showing for WKU as she is currently tied for 16th. Hackett shot a 2-over 73 in this first round. In addition to putting in a birdie on her 17th hole, she's also tied for second in the entire field, meeting par 14 times today.
Just inside of the top-40, Addie Westbrook is continuing her strong play for WKU. Westbrook is looking to climb up the board during the final two rounds as she is tied for 38th on the leaderboard following her 5-over 76 first round.
Rounding out the first round for the Tops is Averi Cline. Cline, who has had a very successful run for the Red and White in the spring is looking to bounce back next round after shooting a 13-over 84 in her first round.
The Lady Toppers will tee off for the second round tomorrow morning at 8:30 A.M.
