MIAMI – WKU Women's Tennis will face 4-seed Louisiana Tech in the Conference USA Championship quarterfinals on Friday at 12 p.m. CT at the Pay Cargo Tennis Facility in Miami.
The Lady Toppers earned the No. 5 seed for the single-elimination tournament after going 14-10 in the regular season, including 1-1 against CUSA teams. The 14 wins are tied for fourth-most in a single season in program history.
Friday's match will mark the first time WKU will play in the CUSA quarterfinals since the 2018 season, when the Lady Toppers advanced past the first round with a 4-0 win over Louisiana Tech. The No. 5 seed is the highest WKU has been seeded in a CUSA Championship. WKU's only CUSA Championship semifinal appearance came in the 2017 season.
The Lady Toppers are 6-4 all-time against Louisiana Tech. WKU dropped a 4-3 decision in the last meeting between the programs during the 2021 CUSA Tournament in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Louisiana Tech is 14-8 overall this season and 3-1 in CUSA play, with wins at New Mexico State, at UTEP, and at Sam Houston, and with a loss against Jax State.
