DALLAS, Texas – As WKU Softball swept their CUSA series with FIU in Bowling Green, Conference USA announced Cheyanne Sales as the league's Player of the Week for her performance over the weekend. It's the first league weekly award for the redshirt-junior.
Sales slugged 1.125 and operated with a .625 batting average in the Tops' three-game series sweep over FIU at home. Batting as the designated player all weekend, she picked up a total of eight RBIs off of five hits, including her second home run of the season in Sunday's 11-10 win over the Panthers. The Chattanooga native is fifth on the Tops' stat sheet with a .338 batting average this season, as she also owns 24 hits and 34 total bases in 2024.
WKU is back in action at the WKU Softball Complex for a midweek match up with Morehead State on Wednesday at 5:30pm CT. The Tops will then hit the road to Ruston, La. to face Louisiana Tech for a three-game series Friday-Sunday.
