WKU took their first Conference USA series against NM State over the weekend, going 2-1, that included Katie Gardner's third complete-game shutout of the season as she was rewarded with this week's CUSA Pitcher of the Week. Taylor Sanders also broke the program's record and became the all-time home runs leader with her 39th and 40th home runs on Sunday. Morgan Sharpe batted .500 through three games, as Kelsey Schmidt picked up her third home run of the season against the Aggies.
Not entering conference play yet, the Colonials are 16-4 in 2024, winning their first nine straight games on the road at Wofford and South Alabama. EKU is leading the ASUN in batting (.320) and runs (130), as freshman Kennedy Drafton is leading the league batting .469 at the plate. The Colonials lost their last game at the WKU Softball Complex back in 2018.
The game will be broadcast on radio via the Varsity Network with Scott Thompson on the call.
