EATONTON, Ga. – WKU Women's Golf is officially back in full swing for the spring season. The red and white completed day one of the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational, hosted by Mercer. The Lady Tops currently sit fourth through the first round and were led by Catie Craig and Addie Westbrook.
Day one saw the Lady Tops shoot a 12-over 300 total score.
Catie Craig led the way for the Lady Tops, positioning herself in the top-10 after round one, being tied for sixth. Playing in her home state of Georgia, Craig ended the day with a 1-over 73 round one after putting in five birdies including back-to-back birdies on holes five and six. Her five birdies currently lead the entire field.
Placing in the top-10 for the Lady Tops is Addie Westbrook. The WKU senior is currently tied for 10th after a 2-over 74 day one in Georgia. Westbrook has shown to be consistent through round one, being seventh overall in total pars with 12.
The squad also has Sarah Arnold and Savannah Howell sitting just inside of the top-20 as well as both are currently tied for 15th heading into Saturday. The pair of Lady Toppers finished the day with a 3-over 75 round one. Howell has made her presence felt in the tournament so far competing as an individual, being within the top-10 of the field in birdies where she put in 13.
Tying for 44th on the day is Lady Topper Averi Cline. Cline finished her Friday afternoon with a 6-over 78 score. Cline is looking to build off of a strong first round where she met par 11 times through her 18 holes.
Rounding off the day for the Lady Tops is Sydney Hackett who is tied for 59th heading into round two. The Lady Topper sophomore finished with an 8-over 80 score heading into Saturday.
The Lady Tops will continue with round two of the tournament tomorrow morning for a 10 A.M. tee time.
