BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU volleyball posted a three-set sweep hosting CUSA opponent LA Tech on Friday night in Diddle Arena in the first of two home matches hosting the Bulldogs this weekend. Senior rightside hitter Kenadee Coyle led the Tops with 10 kills while freshman outside hitter Alivia Skidmore, sophomore middle hitter Izzy Van De Wiele and senior outside hitter Kaylee Cox all collected nine kills.
The Hilltoppers' .481 attack percentage (47 K, 8 E, 81 TA) in the win over LA Tech charts as the second highest mark on the season for the team. WKU improves to 16-6 overall for the 2024 season and 9-0 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1: 25-18
A kill by Skidmore gave the team its first lead of the set, 13-12, before strong hitting from the Hilltoppers lifted the team to a first-set victory. Bauer recorded 11 assists for the set.
Set 2: 25-15
Coyle and Van De Wiele led the offensive charge for WKU accounting for eight combined kills in the set. A service ace from Bauer ended the set and gave the Hilltoppers a 2-0 advantage for the match.
Set 3: 25-17
Strong hitting by Cox helped the Tops pull away to a third-set victory and close the match with a three-set sweep of the Bulldogs. Cox collected seven kills in the set.
