WKU Women's Golf in second place after round one in S.C.

GREENVILLE, S.C. — WKU women's golf teed off their third tournament of the fall in South Carolina for the Lady Paladin Invitational. The Lady Tops wrapped up the first round in Greenville in second place overall.

The squad shot 3-under 285 on the day. The team trails last year's Lady Paladin Champion Furman, by only one stroke.

Catie Craig is continuing her stellar play coming off the Jennifer Duke championship. The junior is currently second overall on the leaderboard after shooting a 5-under 67 on the day.

Her fellow Lady Topper Averi Cline is also in the top 10 as the day wrapped up. Cline is currently tied for fifth on the leaderboard, shooting 2-under 70 including three birdies.

Rachel Rich is tied for 26^th place as an individual with a 1-over score through round one, showing a steady stroke.

Addie Westbrook and Sarah Arnold are tied for 32^nd through round one in an extremely competitive field. Both Lady Tops sit on a 2-over 74 score and are looking to move up the rankings with round two.

Sophomore Sydney Hackett is in a logjam for 45^th through round one. Hackett shot 3-over 75 and is looking to move up as the tourney continues.

The Lady Tops continue their action at the Invitational tomorrow with the second round. The field tees off with a shotgun start at 10 a.m.
