BOWLING GREEN, Fl. – Hilltopper Golf teed off opening day of the Streamsong Invitational hosted by Lipscomb Monday morning and is currently tied for eighth place. WKU is five shots out of the top 5, with a total score of 291 on the day.Details
Senior Connery Meyer led the way for the Tops, currently sitting in the top 20. Meyer is tied for 18th shooting just 1-under 72 on the day showing his steady hand.
Junior Stephen Warren is also in the logjam tied for 18th, posting a 1-under 72 as well, including three straight birdies.
Junior Riley Grindstaff had a solid showing, starting out strong with a birdie on his first hole before making par in his next two holes. Grindstaff currently sits at an even score for the tournament, tying him for 26th thus far.
Redshirt junior Nic Hofman shot a 1-over 74 for the day, including four birdies. Hofman is tied for 38th  through one round.
Graduate senior Luke Fuller turned in a 3-over 76 performance, pulling within just one shot of par at holes 11, 12, and 13, before a tough 16th hole set him back.
Meyer and Fuller are each in the top five for the most pars so far in the tournament.
The Hilltoppers' are looking to bounce back for rounds two and three of the invitational.
WKU will tee off the second round at 8:30 a.m. CT on Tuesday morning.
