BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The WKU Hilltoppers are back for their final Conference USA regular series at home, playing host to Louisiana Tech for three games. Action starts Friday at 6 p.m. CT at the WKU Softball Complex in Bowling Green.
In anyone's game in the league, LA Tech comes to town for the first three-game series in both program's history in Bowling Green. The Lady Techsters lead the all-time series, 8-6, while WKU took the last contest over the no. 1 seed LA Tech in semifinal round of the 2022 C-USA Softball Tournament, 5-1, in Denton. The last win for the Red and White over LA Tech was back in 2011.
On the road for the final time in the regular season, WKU took their fourth C-USA series of the season with two wins down in Miami against FIU. While dropping Friday's series opener, 7-3, that included Randi Drinnon's third home run of the season, the Hilltoppers bounced back for a 4-1 effort on Saturday. Kelsie Houchens kept them scoreless for near four innings, as Faith Hegh, Brylee Hage, and Kasia Parks notched RBIs on offense for the Red and White. In Sunday's series finale, the Hilltoppers came back from a 0-4 first inning for their fifth come-from-behind win of the season that featured Hegh tying the program record with 19 doubles this season.
Streaming will be available on the secondary network, Behind the Mic, for Friday and Saturday's games. The Hilltopper Sports Satellite Network via Facebook Live is the stream for Sunday's home finale. Scott Thompson will be on the call for all three contests.
Due to the construction for the new WKU Soccer/Softball Complex, the south entrance via Creason Street is closed. Fans can enter and purchase tickets on the north end, down the sidewalk via the Creason lot in between left field and PS3. Concessions and restrooms will be open, but space is constrained due to construction fencing.
