This weekend's meetings will be the second and third times that the Tops have faced Big Ten opponent, Minnesota. The Gophers lead the all-time series 0-1. The Hilltoppers hold the all-time lead over Butler, 2-0 in the series, while the weekend's doubleheader with Michigan could tie the series as the Wolverines hold a 1-3 series edge over WKU.
"We've worked really hard since we got back in January", head coach Amy Tudor said during her media availability on Tuesday. "We have a lot of returners as well as some new faces, we're just excited to get the season started in sunny Florida. Our main goal is to build this team and build on our success for the future."
WKU's roster features two fifth-year seniors, Taylor Davis and transfer Faith Hegh for the 2023 season. As well as four seniors: Katie Gardner, Brylee Hage, Taylor Sanders, and TJ Webster, who have all elected to return to The Hill with fifth-year eligibility. Additionally, the Hilltoppers see six returners from the C-USA Tournament Championship game, as well as adding six freshmen and Auburn transfer Kelsey Schmidt.
