WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Hilltopper Golf finished day one of the Purdue Fall Classic 12th overall on the leaderboard heading into the final round. The Tops posted a 17-over 585 in total through two rounds.
The Tops were led by senior Connery Meyer through the first two rounds of action. Meyer tied for 19th after posting back-to-back even par-71 rounds.
Luke Fuller is currently tied for 41st on the board. Fuller fought his way all the way back from 5-over in round two and wrapped up his round 1-over. Fuller is currently holding a 4-over 146 total score heading into the last round.
Stephen Warren had a solid showing through the first day, improving 11 spots between rounds one and two. The junior posted a 1-under 70 round two after putting in four birdies, including back-to-back birdies on holes five and six. Warren is also one of the 11 players in the field with an eagle.
Nic Hofman finished the day with a 7-over 149 total score on the day. Hofman is tied for 63rd heading into the final round of play.
In his first look at tournament action of the Fall, senior Aaron Pha finished his day coming in at 84th on the leaderboard. Pha had a five stroke improvement between rounds one and two, jumping from an 86 to 81.
The squad will wrap up the Purdue Classic tomorrow morning for a 10:00 A.M. start.
